Sandy's Elmo Doll
Sandy saw the new Tickle Me Elmo Doll advertised on TV and it attracted her interest. I heard her laughing in the living room where she was watching TV and after she saw the advertisements a few times, she told me that she wanted one of the Elmo Dolls. I had not seen the ads so I didn't know what she was talking about and it was amusing as she attempted to explain it to me by trying to imitate what the doll does. She told me that it was a doll and when I asked what kind of doll, she said, "Its Ehmmo." When I finally realized what she was speaking of I told her that I would get one of them for her but that was easier said than done because none of the stores in this area had the dolls in stock when I went into the store. I looked for almost a month with no success. My Nieces Jean and Joan who live in the Indianapolis area told Sandy that they would look down there for one of the dolls and with the help of my Great Niece, Andrea, they found one. Sandy and I went to Indianapolis on Veterans Day where my Great Nephew, Nick Bennett received a Marine promotion and my Brother, Gene, received some honors and awards dating back to his WW2 service. While we were at the War Memorial Building in Indianapolis and after the promotion and awards ceremonies were over, Jean, Joan and Jean's Daughter Andrea, gave the doll to Sandy as a surprise gift. Sandy did not know that they had found it and it was a surprise to her. Here are some pictures of Sandy and Elmo.
