"The wind was blowing, blowing, blowing; Blowing everything
away......" A Young People's Group at
a church in Haleyville, Alabama was using this music as a background theme for a
presentation program they were developing. A local radio station put them
in touch with the songwriter, Doug Clark, and they invited him down to present a
concert in the church. He sang this song during the concert and they seemed to
like it very much.
A few days after Doug returned home, he received a call from the
church in Haleyville to inform him of the following incident. Some severe
tornadoes had blown through Alabama and one was bearing down upon Haleyville
while the people were gathered in the church. All of them gathered in a narrow
hallway and began to pray and sing the song, God Is In The Whirlwind. I
understand that the older people were pretty enthusiastic about the song too at
that time. The tornado missed the church and everyone was safe. Thank God, He is
everywhere!
