JOHN K. CLARK was born Abt. 1810 in Tennessee, and
died Abt. September 29, 1883 in Kentucky. He married LUCY G. WILLIAMS Abt. 1827.
She was born Abt. 1807 in North Carolina.
Notes for JOHN K. CLARK:
Some census records indicate that John K. Clark was born in Kentucky, others
indicate Tennessee while still others indicate Virginia. Census information
indicates that John's two oldest children, James H. and Charles W. were born in
Tennessee. The third child, Newton J. Clark was born in Kentucky. All the
remaining eight children were also born in Kentucky. John lived on a 159 acre
farm, one mile west of Nortonville, KY from the 1850's until his death in the
mid 1880's. The farm was bordered on the North by the Princeton/Greenville Road
and on the South by Pleasant Run Creek. Several of John's sons were Ministers in
the Regular Baptist Church. They were Farmers And Preachers where Pleasant Run
Creek water flows, then some of John and Lucy's Grandchildren "dug in the coal",
as Miners in some of the local coal mines.
